1995 Bentley Turbo R

Lot details
Registration No: N960OGC
Chassis No: SCBZR159C3TCH5723
Mot Expiry: July 2008

Quoted as developing some 385bhp and 553lbft of torque, this fearsome unit was tamed somewhat with the adoption of ETAS (Electronic Traction Assistance System) in 1996. Reputedly capable of a towering 155mph thanks to advances in brake and tyre technology, the "New" Turbo R retained its immediate predecessor's standard fit four-speed automatic transmission (itself upgraded from three speeds in 1992). Further benefiting from a revised interior including improved memory seats, just 543 "New" Turbo Rs are thought to have been made before production ceased in 1997.

Introduced for the 1995 model year, the "New" Bentley Turbo R (like its "New" Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn and "New" Rolls-Royce Silver Spur stablemates) was little changed in outward appearance. Still based around the familiar four-door monocoque bodyshell equipped with all round independent suspension (self-levelling at the rear), ventilated ABS disc brakes and power assisted steering, its turbocharged 6750cc V8 engine employed a more sophisticated Zytek EMS3 management system.

Finished in green with magnolia leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, automatic transmission, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres. Reportedly entering the current ownership "direct from a finance company", 'N960 OGC' is understood to have been "serviced right through" and to be "running exceptionally well". Regularly used, the Bentley is believed but not warranted to have covered some 73,800 miles from new. Apparently "a facelift model featuring special bumpers and an electrically adjustable steering wheel", it is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until July 2008.

PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE VENDOR THAT "TWO YEARS AGO A NEW HYDRAULIC SEAL WAS FITTED WITHIN THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. SINCE THEN THE 'CHECK ENGINE' WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN ON BUT THIS IS BECAUSE THE CAR NEEDS A COMPUTER RESET. IT HAS BEEN RUN THIS WAY CONTINUOUSLY FOR TWO YEARS".

All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.

You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
