Announced late in 1968, the Triumph TR6 utilised the same basic chassis design as its TR5 and TR4A predecessors. Featuring all round independent coil-sprung suspension, disc / drum brakes and rack and pinion steering, it was powered by Triumph's acclaimed 2498cc straight-six engine. Mated to four-speed plus overdrive transmission, this torquey unit gave both spirited acceleration and relaxed cruising. A strong seller on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to its low slung, Kamm tail styling, the TR6 is regarded by many as the last of the true TR sportscars.
Finished in dark red with tan upholstery, this particular left-hand drive example has been part of the collection since 1990. Originally supplied to the US, it sports twin Stromberg 175 CD2 carburettors, impact bumpers and faux 'dog ear' spinners to its steel wheels. Benefiting from a black hood with black carpets throughout (including the boot), it is also equipped with a wooden dashboard, Kenwood radio-cassette player and leather-rimmed steering wheel.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
