The Japanese Bridgestone company entered the automotive field in 1933, as a tyre manufacturer. The end of the Second World War saw the company diversify, initially as a cycle manufacturer in 1949, before adding clip-on engines to their product range in 1952 and motorcycles in 1958. By the latter half of the sixties Bridgestone motorcycles were well established in the States with a range of high quality machines being offered from 50cc to 350cc. At the end of 1967 Bill Smith of Chester brought Bridgestone to the British market offering a five machine including the Dual Twin
Developing 20 bhp @ 8,000 rpm and equipped with a four speed "rotary"/ five speed conventional shift gearbox, the rotary valve 175 twin introduced chromium plated bores in the alloy cylinders to the road and were equipped with an oil injection system.
The 1968 Dual Twin offered has been fully restored by the vendor and is presented to a very high standard throughout. It is offered with an Mot certificate valid until October 2014 together with a Tax disc valid to the same time and a Swansea V5C.
