Lot details
Registration No: YST123V
Chassis No: 29237
Mot Expiry: Feb 2006

This Ferrari, a right-hand drive 308 GTS, first left the celebrated Maranello factory in Italy in 1979, being first registered to Paul Huxford on 1 October of that year. The first change of ownership then took place the following March 1980 to Terence Hoyland, who kept the car until January 1989 when it was purchased by John Woodfield, the owner of Emblem Sports Cars.
We understand that the Pininfarina styled targa-top coupe was completely overhauled with attention to bodywork, painted in traditional red, and interior, trimmed in black Connolly leather, at a total cost of £21,000 to Emblem. Following the sale of the Ferrari specialists to Nigel Mansell, Woodfield moved north to Invergordon, where, following a stroke, his favourite motor car, which he had retained for his retirement, sadly hardly turned a wheel in ten years. In 1999, however, the project was acquired by the Scottish vendor, who tells us that it took a while to return to the road.
He rates the current condition of the chassis as good, the two-door bodywork excellent and the paintwork also good. The alloys are in good order, he says, though the tyre treads are worn. The speedo, with a believed by the vendor to be genuine 48,509 miles displayed since new, does require renewal, he says, but the refurbished interior is still excellent. The 3-litre eight-cylinder motor and the five-speed manual transmission are reportedly in good order as is the electrical equipment. The MOT is valid until next January, the tax disc until May.
Please Note: The car has been looked after by the owners engineer since he has had the car and it will arrive at the sale with a new MOT. Regarding main agent service history in the cars file it has been stamped 1988 when the recorded mileage was 46000 and it will be driven from Scotland to the sale.
