Lot details Registration No: OEW418R Chassis No: 1162111532 Mot Expiry: April 2015
In 1933, Hitler ordered Ferdinand Porsche to design a `volkswagen' (people's car). The story of the Beetle is like no other - 66 years of production, over 21 million examples manufactured etc. `OEW 418R' was purchased new in January 1977 by a lady in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, who retained it to June 2007 before transferring the title to her Bristol-based daughter. The Beetle has still only covered a guaranteed 30,223 miles from new, having spent the last seven years in storage. As a result of the lack of recent use, a degree of precautionary recommissioning would be advised. And, according to the vendor, while the Bright Yellow paintwork is impressively original, it would now benefit from a certain amount of rectification. The VW is now available complete with its original tool kit, jack and drivers' handbook. A great opportunity to acquire an unmolested example of one of the most popular of all starter classics.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
