Lot details Registration No: TSY 301 Chassis No: 111701008 Mot Expiry: Jan 2017
'TSY 301' was manufactured for the MOD in 1957 and then road registered 10 years later. Apparently very well maintained, the Landie's original engine was replaced with a 2.25-litre unit which, together with the transmission, brake system and starter motor, has since been overhauled. The vehicle has been rewired with a period loom and new clutch, door and window seals and (old stock) trafficators installed. The odometer currently displays an unwarranted but feasible 57,861 miles. The vendor presently describes the engine, transmission and electrical equipment as 'excellent', the bodywork and interior trim as 'very good' and the paintwork as 'good'. Finished in Green and trimmed in Green and Black, it comes complete with hardtop and an MOT valid to January 14 next year. Series Land Rovers have been collectible for a long time now, but became even more so with the demise of the closely-related Defender. Series 1 models are generally the most sought after.
