Lot details Registration No: JNV 18 Chassis No: DAB11/138786 Mot Expiry: June 2005
Morris Motors were one of the major players of the British motor industry in the pre-WW2 years; owner William Morris, later ennobled Lord Nuffield, being recognised by motoring historians as the man who put Britain on wheels.
Offered here is a 1953 Cowley-built Morris Oxford MO. Barn-found in 1990 and totally rebuilt by model specialist Andy Holloway, this delightful 1950s British classic successfully participated on a Classic Rally in 1998, since when the righthand drive 4-door saloon has apparently been dry-stored.
Current condition of bodywork and separate chassis are described as being good with grey paintwork also good and interior still original. Both 1.5-litre 4-cylinder motor and manual gearbox are reportedly in good order, too, and wheels and tyres as well as electrical equipment fair.
The documents file for JNV 13 contains a British Motor Industry Heritage certificate which confirms dating and manufacturing details and the current MOT Test certificate which will not require renewing until next June. This delightful and clearly thoroughly sound postwar vehicle is currently on SORN with the DVLC.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
