Lot details Registration No: STL818W Chassis No: GAECAL056200 Mot Expiry: Jan 2006
This Ford Cologne built, though right-hand drive Capri 3.0 Ghia coupe was supplied new by Gregory's of Worksop 18 October 1980 to a retired Ford Main Dealer Foreman Mechanic, who kept the three-door automatic for the next sixteen years, reportedly driving it only during the summer months, mainly for UK touring holidays.
His notebook diligently detailed journeys, every gallon of fuel consumed and, of course, items of service expenditure. Although not all former MOTs are on file, it is claimed that the three-door remained unused during these certificate breaks, having been carefully garaged and preserved under a car cover. The latest MOT will be valid until the end of next January.
Still in the original and only slightly stone-chipped Ice Green metallic with vinyl-covered roof, this Essex 3-litre V6 engined Ghia is reckoned to be one the best around and certainly one of the most original- even the factory inspection mark survives in the boot which has an unused spare wheel. The vendor claims that it has never been welded, the beige cloth interior is totally original and the 80,712 mileage displayed when entered is the genuine total.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
