Lot details Registration No: B683SLJ Chassis No: WPOZZZ91ZFS101944 Mot Expiry: April 2008
Combining two of Porsche's most famous name tags, the 'Carrera' series 911 debuted at the September 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show. Powered by a new 3164cc 'flat-six' engine that developed some 231bhp and 209lbft of torque, it was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and 153mph. Further benefiting from a galvanised two-door bodyshell, all-round independent torsion-bar suspension, four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering, the newcomer boasted a blend of performance, reliability and practicality that few rivals could match.
Finished in red with black leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, five-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres. Believed to have covered just 85,000 miles from new (a figure apparently substantiated by "fifteen previous MOTs" and "quite a few service sheets"), 'B683 SLJ' is also said to be "a very good driver". Sporting a front air dam, black-centred alloy wheels and rear 'whale tail' spoiler, this appealing 911 Carrera is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until April 2008.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
