Originally made in 1975, this Morris Mini was reshelled in 1998. The engine, said to be of 1330cc capacity, is to full comp-spec with special crank, Omega pistons, high-lift cam, ported head with huge valves, roller rockers, high performance cam followers, Aldon distributor, Lumenition ignition, ultra-light flywheel and Maniflow manifolds. The transmission is very special, too, with Jack Knight dog box, Tranex limited slip differential and GKN driveshafts. Rear suspension is by beam with Spax coil-overs, whilst crew are protected by full cage, competition seats, harnesses and plumbed-in extinguishers.
In ultimate tarmac stage rally trim, this extremely rapid Mini became very well known in the capable hands of the Selby family, competing successfully on events as far afield as the Isle of Man, Ireland and Belgium, and being a recent class winner on the Safety Devices National Tarmac Rally Championship.
Condition of body, red paintwork and interior are described as very good, and motor and transmission excellent. Included are MSA Stage Logbook, MOT, ten Minilites and boxes of spares. Buy and fly.
