Lot details Registration No: 650 UYE Chassis No: 909671 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Introduced in August 1930, the La Salle Series 345A model range featured a 134-in wheelbase, 5.8-litre V8 engine, all-synchromesh manual transmission and four-wheel drum brakes. A handsome derivative, the Five-Passenger Town Sedan accounted for 2,387 of the 10,103 Series 345A cars made (though, today survivors are scarce). Almost certainly the nicest example that we will ever encounter, `650 UYE' was treated to an exhaustive `chassis up' restoration by its previous keeper Rex Jackson of Auburn, Washington between 2000 and 2011. An aircraft engineer (Boeing) by profession, Mr Jackson owned the La Salle for forty-two years (1971-2013). Repainted and retrimmed by Sabin Restoration and Main Street Upholstery respectively, work also saw the Town Sedan's engine professionally balanced and fitted with higher compression Ross aluminium pistons etc. Imported to the UK earlier this year by the vendor and only regretfully being offered for sale due to ill health, this stunning La Salle is worthy of the closest inspection.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
