During the late seventies and early eighties the Shenstone based Norton company continued development of their rotary powered machines, eventually offering production examples to the Police, armed forces and medical services, however, it was not until 1988 and the announcement of the limited edition Classic model that enthusiasts were able to purchase a rotary of their own.
Production was limited to 100 examples ensuring that demand outstripped supply and assuring the models status as an instant classic. The new machine, as its name implied, was styled along classical lines and finished in Norton's traditional silver with black and red striped livery.
This example, number 51, was purchased by the vendors father new in 1988 and has been stored in a heated garage ever since. It is described as being in excellent, unmarked condition cosmetically, whilst the mechanical condition is commensurate with a machine that has only recorded 12 miles from new. It is supplied with a Swansea V5 and full documentation including the original sales invoice.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
