Lot details Registration No: SV 4372 Chassis No: 1163 Mot Expiry: Exempt
The Regal Motor Car Company existed in Detroit from 1907 to 1918. By far its best known model was the competitively priced and sporty-looking Underslung (so-called because of its underslung chassis), examples of which were imported into the UK as the Seabrook-RMC. Thought to be one of only 12 or so Underslungs remaining worldwide, 'SV 4372' is said to have the correct chassis and engine numbers and covered little mileage since a total restoration in 2001/2002. It is powered by an L-headed 3225cc side-valve engine that drives through a leather cone clutch to a rear-mounted three-speed manual gearbox. The Regal has been fitted with an electric start and Austin Reproduction coil ignition, but the trembler coils are still installed and the Bosch magneto will be included in the sale; as are new 'original specification' front and rear mudguards, comprehensive manuals, VCC dating certificate and two DVDs covering the restoration.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
