Further info:
Awarded the prestigious accolade of "European Car of the Year" at its launch in 1976, the Rover SD1 was the first vehicle to come out of the newly formed Special Division of British Leyland (hence SD1). The ground breaking hatchback, with design cues from the Ferrari Daytona and clever product placement by the marketing team, with appearances in The Professionals and The New Avengers, made the SD1 an instant hit with company executives. With order books filling up right from the off.
This rare Series 1 survivor, with the iconic early "shoe box" dash and much sought after 3500 engine with the automatic gearbox, has reportedly been in the same family from new. Firstly being registered in the father's business, before being handed on to his son. Apart from going for her annual MOT, she has in the main, been in storage for a number of years. Now showing only 72,000 miles, with no fewer than 17 service entries in the original "Passport to Service" booklet.
Offered with a few previous MOT's, the original book pack and even the, now very rare, "Supercover" mirror hanger from when it was new !! The SD1 3500 is MOT tested until May 2016 ( with no advisories) and looks excellent value.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
