The Alec Issigonis designed Morris Minor has become one of the most enduring classics of all. The basic concept and straightforward technical layout was spot-on, not only being an economic proposition for the bean counters at Morris to sanction their manufacture, but also because private punters could afford to buy and run them in very large numbers over many years with relatively easy to achieve upgrades.
Offered here is a 1965-manufactured and righthand drive Minor Traveller in grey with red vinyl interior. The entrant tells us that he acquired the estate in January 2000 and has not used it since. The 81,246 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total mileage.
The condition of bodyshell and panels are described as being average with paintwork also average and nearside top wood rail very poor. However, the trim is said to be in good condition and both 1098cc 4-cylinder motor and 4-speed manual gearbox are reportedly in average order as is the electrical equipment. We understand that many spares are included.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
