The Triumph Trophy was introduced following the victory by Alan Jeffries, Bob Manns, Len Bayliss, Jimmy Alves and Alex Scobie in the ISDT in 1948 on their 500cc machines and soon an became an established for the sporting motorcyclist wanting a machine capable of road work during the week and competition at the weekends.
Based on a shortened Speed Twin frame, the chassis handled well and with its lightweight aluminium motor it was truly a formidable mount, gaining immediate popularity with both scrambles and trials exponents.
The machine offered today is described as very well restored, in full road trim with high level exhausts silver panelled chromium plated petrol tank and silvered lightweight mudguards, it is truly an impressive mount.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
