A top speed of 156 mph from a 1000cc air cooled triple is a figure still to be regarded with respect when one considers that this was achieved by a machine introduced in 1985. It would be easy to overlook the other fine attributes of the Laverda SFC 1000 as a result, which would be doing what is arguably the Breganze concerns most "complete" motorcycle an injustice. The Jota may still be spoken of with awe in their voices by enthusiasts of a certain age and the SFC twin may still stop people in their tracks simply to admire its brutal good looks but neither will perform with such assured ease as the last triple. Road tests of the time describe a machine producing a seamless flow of power and endowed with race bike handling finished to a high standard. Unfortunately, by the time the new machine entered production Laverda was teetering on the brink of collapse and although the machine continued to be available until 1988 the financial crisis at Laverda restricted production severely.
This example was purchased by the vendor in 1988 and has resided in his private collection since then. It has not been used on the road and is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition in all respects and is offered with a Swansea V5.
