Believed to be one of just six examples built in 1952 before introduction of the R-Type, we are advised this handsome MkVI saloon by H J Mulliner was treated to a considerable amount of restoration work by Rolls-Royce & Bentley specialists approximately five years ago, invoices for which we understand total in excess of £55,000. This included a bare metal respray to the aluminium coachwork in Midnight Blue over Ocean Blue, new grey hide to the interior, new blue Wilton carpet, professional re-polishing of the wood veneers and re-trimming of the boot. The engine is said to "pull well with recommended oil pressure" with all bright work being to a "high standard".
Delivered to Jack Barclay in May 1952 when registered 'BE 1', the first owner was a Col. Sanders of Gainsborough. Offered with Swansea V5, copy build sheets and assorted invoices this special Bentley is well worthy of close inspection.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
