Rex-Acme formed in 1920 when the Rex and Acme companies joined, continuing in production until falling victim, as did many of their rivals to the economic downturn at the end of the twenties and early thirties. The company had met with considerable competition success during the twenties, whilst their product range reflected contemporary innovations in motorcycle design.
This delightful example is offered in original condition. The engine is described as turning over and having compression and the transmission selects gears. The cycle parts are described as being in good condition but in need of recomissioning prior to use. The machine is offered with a Swansea V5 for the age related number that currently adorns the motorcycle, however, an old buff log book is also included with the machine. This records Oliver Langston as being a previous owner and, we are informed, from whose family the machine was purchased by the present owner. We are also told that no attempt was made to recover the original registration number shown in the buff log book, suggesting that enquiries should be made on the part of the purchaser as to its availability.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
