Honda introduced two new 550cc fours during 1975 as a replacement for, and derived from the existing CB500 four. The CB550K was the first on the market was intended for the touring market and featured four silencers and was followed by the CB550F Super Sport with a four into one exhaust system aimed at the more sporting market. Both machines provided good performance and a high level of standard equipment.
This example of the CB550F is offered in very good original condition. The machine was formerly registered to Team Surtees Ltd. It is accompanied by a letter from John Surtees confirming that he did at one time own a CB400/4 and a CB550/4, both of which would have recorded very little mileage, the motorcycle currently displays 3082 on the odometer, and a copy of a Swansea V5 showing Team Surtees as the first recorded keeper. It has not been used recently and consequently require recomissioning prior to use.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
