Lot details Registration No: GFO 938 Frame No: KT 2170 Engine No: KSS 4706 cc: 348 MOT Expiry Date: None
Velocette began in Birmingham's Hall Green, where German-born Johannes Gutgermann, who later changed his name to John Goodman, started making frames for another manufacturer and then produced his own bikes under the Veloce brand in 1905.
Offered here is a 1933 KSS 350, which was restored to a high standard in 1998, and is reportedly still in excellent condition. The vendor, a lifelong enthusiast for the marque, is reluctantly parting with his beloved bike because of his being unable to ride it for a considerable time.
The Midland-made classic has a 348cc overhead camshaft motor, which has been completely overhauled with rebore, mains and big-end bearings as well as valves and guides renewed, and both magneto and carburetor reconditioned. The bike has a 4-speed gearbox with foot-change. The mudguards have been replaced with new repro items and rims and spokes have been renewed, while the frame has been painted in traditional black. Originally, the lights were on the optional extra list - however, the parts needed to fit some lights are included with GF0 938.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
