Raleigh entered the motorcycle market following the First World War and quickly earnt a reputation for reliability and qualitythat they maintained until production ceased in 1934.
The Model 25SS offered is powered by a 350cc ohv engine and was first registered in Wiltshire during August 1929. There appears to be some debate as to its exact year of manufacture with the VMCC Blue Book of 1991 describing it as 1928 which is supported by a letter from the "Classic Motor Cycle" suggesting that it is a 1929 model built during the second half of 1928. It had three subsequent owners before its acquisition by the National Motorcycle Museum who undertook its restoration in 1984 before they sold it. The present owner is the machines third since restoration and he reports that it is in excellent cosmetic condition with a good transmission and electrical components and a very good engine. It is offered for sale with a Swansea V5C, buff continuation log book, tax disc valid until September 2014 and a detailed list of the previous owners.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
