At the end of 1964 Norton dropped the ES2 and Model 50 singles from their range, replacing them with two machines that were based on the contemporary Matchless/AJS singles. This followed a policy of product rationalisation throughout the struggling group which resulted in a number of hybrids and badge engineered machines appearing. The new single utilised Norton Roadholder forks and brakes, as did the AJS and Matchless variants, with the AMC gearbox and single cylinder overhead valve engine whose origins could be traced back to the pre war Matchless range.
Restored in 1999 and offered with a V5 registration document, this comparatively rare machine is described as being in good condition throughout.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
