Although the new Moto 2 class was regarded by many with suspicion on its announcement the exciting racing and full grids it has produced have no doubt gone a long way to allaying peoples fears. When it was first announced a number of specialist frame builders showed interest, the British Harris Performance Products concern among them.
The machine offered was built by the company during 2009, following the initial announcement concerning the new class, using a Yamaha 600cc engine before it was decided that Honda CBR600 engines would provide the motive power for the class to the exclusion of all others. As a consequence it was never able to race but did cover some miles testing, no doubt providing valuable information for subsequent, Honda powered machines. The only example extant, it can fairly be described as the "ultimate" track day machine and, at the same type a fascinating collector's item providing an insight into the development of the new class at its outset.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
