The most successful car in World Rally Championship history, it is unlikely that the Integrale's record of six WRC titles and forty-six individual rally wins will ever be beaten. Introduced in November 1987, the road-going '8-valve' version quickly earned a reputation as a fantastic driver's car. Derived from the same basic Giorgio Guigiaro styled monocoque shell as its fire-breathing brethren, it sported specially widened wheelarches and modified settings for its all round independent suspension (Macpherson strut front, double transverse arm rear). Fed by a Garrett AiResearch T3 turbocharger (complete with intercooler), its Aurelio Lampredi designed DOHC 1995cc four-cylinder engine developed an impressive 185hp and 304Nm of torque. Deployed via a five-speed manual gearbox, its sophisticated permanent four-wheel drive system (central viscous coupling, torsen rear differential etc) was set-up to give a 56:44 front / rear bias under normal loads. Reputedly capable of 128mph and 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds, it was equipped with vented front / solid rear discs as standard. Available in left-hand drive guise only, the Integrale 8-valve became an almost instant cult classic.
Finished in red with grey velour upholstery, this particular example is variously described by the vendor as being in "very good" (engine, gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis, paintwork) or "excellent" (bodywork, wheels / tyres) condition. A former continental import but now UK registered, it is said to possess "impressive acceleration" and "outstanding handling". Reportedly benefiting from "comprehensive service and maintenance history", it is believed but not warranted to have covered 113192 kilometres (approximately 70,600 miles) from new. One of the most enjoyable A-to-B cars of recent years, this smartly kept Integrale is offered for sale with "12 months" MOT certificate.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle has an MOT until April 2007.
