Reportedly prepared to MSA Modified Saloon Car specification, this Alfasud Ti racer is understood to have finished second in class during two consecutive Scottish Hillclimb Championships (taking numerous class wins and placings en route). Boasting an enviable specification, the car's initial build is said to have cost "well in excess of £15,000". Suitably strengthened and braced, its hatchback bodyshell plays host to fibreglass panels (bonnet / hatch / doors), Perspex windows and a six-point Safety Devices roll cage (complete with door bars). The work of Westune Auto Service - who achieved considerable fame for preparing the works-supported Alfasuds which ran so successfully in the British Touring Car Championship during the mid-1970s - its 1712cc four-cylinder engine is allied to a four-speed close-ratio manual gearbox. With over 190bhp reputedly on tap and a 9:31 final drive, the Alfasud Ti has need of its limited-slip differential and bias-adjustable four-wheel disc brakes (4-pot calliper front / 2-pot calliper rear). Benefiting from all-round adjustable Koni shock absorbers, the suspension set-up utilises rose joints up front, hard nylon bushes at the rear and a lightweight 33-style back axle. Riding on new 'Team Dynamics' 7 x 15 alloy wheels shod with Avon slicks, the car also boasts a plumbed-in AFFF fire extinguisher system, launch control and two-gallon alloy fuel tank. An out-and-out racer that would be difficult / costly to convert to roadgoing specification, the Alfasud Ti is potentially eligible for the Alfa Romeo Championship, Classic Thunder Series or tack day usage (though, a new owner may prefer to keep adding to its hillclimbing / sprint record). Finished in silver with a high-backed blue racing seat, it is variously described by the vendor as being in "overhauled" (gearbox), "excellent" (engine, electrical equipment, chassis, bodywork, paintwork) or "new" (interior trim, wheels / tyres) condition. While, he summarises the Alfasud Ti as "a fine handling, rewarding car that is both easy and forgiving to drive and which is capable of a high degree of success in the right hands". An affordable entry into the world of historic motorsport, this tempting Alfa Romeo is offered for sale with a tailored cover, four coil springs, four 7 x 15 wheels carrying wet weather tyres and MSA Log Book
