Lot details Registration No: 7777 WX Chassis No: P1K4554BW Mot Expiry: June 2013
The Daimler V8-250 was a derivative of the all-conquering Jaguar MKII Saloon and was named after the engine that powered it - a lightweight, eight-cylinder one of 2548cc. The 140bhp unit was mated to either a Borg Warner three-speed automatic or four-speed manual gearbox. Daimler versions of the MKII were readily distinguishable by the heavily fluted tops of their chrome radiator grilles. The V8-250 continued in manufacture until production of all MKII derivatives ceased in 1969, by which time some 17,620 of the Daimler version had been made.
This very tidy example was manufactured in 1969 and is finished in Old English White teamed with Blue leather upholstery. It was apparently treated to a bare metal respray during the 1990s and purchased by the vendor in 2008. Since then he has invested £800 on overhauling the brake system and fitting two new tyres. He has also personally refurbished the front and rear suspension, fitting new springs, bushes and dampers. Waxoyled underneath, '7777 WX' has evidently only covered 500 miles in the last four years and is now described by the vendor as having "very good" bodywork, interior trim and V8 engine, "excellent paintwork" and "good" automatic gearbox.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
