Lot details Registration No: UHK 115 Chassis No: 1812799 Mot Expiry: Oct 2005
Armstrong-Siddeley Motors Limited was founded after the First World War in October 1919 as a fully-owned subsidiary of Sir W G Armstrong Whitworth Development Company Limited (a joint venture between John D Siddeley of Coventry and Sir W G Armstrong of Newcastle Upon Tyne). Under Siddeley ownership, the Coventry firm had what were reckoned in the late 1920s to be state of the art manufacturing facilities. Their Parkside factory even had a three-in-one test hill constructed inside the works as well as in-house chromium-plating facilities.
This 1952-made Whitley, a right-hand drive four-door saloon, has been in the present ownership for twenty-three years, during which time it has been enjoyed on many rallies as well as being shown at classic car events - sadly, UHK 115 is only being auctioned today due to a bereavement. The documents file contains the original brown logbook, which confirms only four previous owners, whilst the current MOT test certificate will be valid until October.
Mechanically and cosmetically, 2309cc six-cylinder engine and four-speed gearbox as well as brown over beige paintwork and tan hide interior are described by the vendor as being in good overall condition.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
