Necessity is, according to the saying, the mother of invention and it can be argued that the Triton confirms this. Sporting motorcyclists of the late fifties and early sixties knew that the Triumph twins were the quickest machines available and that the Norton Featherbed provided the best handling, therefore the quickest and best handling machine would combine the best elements of the two. The result was the Triton.
For many the definitive Triton will feature a "wideline" Featherbed frame and a pre unit T120 or T110 Tiger engine as offered here as a basis.
This machine is equipped with an alloy fuel tank, mudguards and central oil tank, swept back exhaust pipes with Gold Star pattern silencers and alloy rims. It has been in the present ownership for the past six years and the vendor informs us that it has benefited from a full engine rebuild. Described as being in "A1" condition throughout it has covered only a few dry miles a year and is offered with a current Road Fund licence to June 2007 and an Mot certificate valid to the same date.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
