A superb clear & frosted glass accessory mascot, as produced by Red-Ashay in c1928 & known as `Ecstasy'. `Ecstasy' was the rarest, earliest & largest of all 30 Red-Ashay accessory mascots produced & depicts a female nude, seductively leaning backwards. It was produced in direct competition to take on Lalique's smaller counterpart, which was known as `Chrysis' & is thought by many to have been the more imposing & superior piece.
Red-Ashay was the trade name for the Ascher Company, that ran from1928-1939, trading until the outbreak of war. Regarded by many as perhaps the most beautiful glass mascot produced, this superb example, featuring no significant wear, chips or damage & is mounted to the correct nickel-plated illuminating base marked `Red Ashay Patent Applied For All Over The World' & includes stud for radiator cap mounting. A rare & highly sought after Continental glass accessory mascot, measuring approximately18x15cm. Magnificent.
