During the early 1970's Vic Camp, the then Ducati importer brought a small number of of the Mototrans built Ducati 24 Horas into the UK whilst he sought to resolve a dispute with Ducati in Italy relating to the prices being charged. Unfortunately, due to the publicity received as a result of one machine failing the Spanish built Ducati acquired a reputation which hindsight suggests was largely unfounded. The 24 Horas was essentially a road going replica of the machines with which Mototrans has successfully competed at the Monjuich 24 Hour race, winning their class on numerous occasions.
The engine utilised a different bore and stroke to the standard machines and the frame benefited from developments aimed at enabling it to endure the rigours of twenty four hours of hard racing. Atheistically the models were equipped with an attractive racing style fuel tank matched to a humped racing saddle, clip-ons and rear-sets.
This pretty example is offered resplendent in the red and white livery associated with the model and retains all of its road legal equipment. It offers a viable and affordable entry into Ducati single ownership and is accompanied by Spanish documentation.
