Exported new to Australia complete with wire wheels to thwart the indigenous termites, this RHD 4.3-litre straight-six 126-inch wheelbase Packard is understood to have been repainted and retrimmed prior to arriving in the UK during 1989. Reportedly treated to an engine overhaul and sundry re-nickelling by its importer, Andrew Simpson of Motospot, the 4/5-seater was once again on his books when it entered the current ownership in February 2001. The winner of a Packard Automobile Club of GB award two years later but sidelined by a restoration project since 2007, the 6-126 is only up for sale due to a house move. An engineer by profession, the vendor has recently awaked this handsome Vintage tourer via a new battery and fuel system flush out.
PLEASE NOTE: The vendor tells us that this lot's clutch was sticking upon recommissioning. However, the clutch subsequently freed off and he was able to drive the Packard onto the transporter which brought it to the sale.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
