Lot details

Registration No: TTU521H
Chassis No: 2302129483

Motor Car Location: London

  • Already a 'Rat Rod' when acquired by the vendor's late husband from Rodz 'n' Sodz Motors for £16,200 in 2016
  • Subsequently treated to some £24,000 worth of fettling by renowned specialist Type 2 Detectives (who then valued it at £35,000)
  • Narrowed front / rear tracks, Air Suspension, tuned Type 4 2.0 litre upright engine conversion etc
  • Purposefully distressed cosmetics but much enhanced mechanicals

We are indebted to the Vendor for the following information:

"Imported from the States in late 2015 and first registered in the UK in April 2016 by a confirmed ‘Rat Rod’ enthusiast, this Westfalia Bay Window camper had already been part of that scene for some time. The new owner embarked on a ‘no expense spared’ overhaul commencing with the mechanical and structural side and careful examination of the invoices shows a total of around £24.000 spent with ‘Type Two Detectives’, acknowledged experts in their field. Having obtained an MOT for peace of mind the time came to start on the interior but sadly, before this could start, sudden severely deteriorating health problems brought the project to an end and regrettably Rattie now forms part of the deceased’s estate. Original invoices are available and full spec is detailed on an attached sheet."
