The desirability of the Gold Star combined with their high values when compared to the other single cylinder machines built by BSA has over the years led to the creation of facsimiles of varying quality. These have ranged from little more than B31's fitted with clip-ons and a twittering silencer to machines offering the same level of performance and looks as the original. The visual similarity and ready availability of components from the more mundane singles has aided the endeavours of specials builders as demonstrated by the machine offered.
The engine is based on a BB34 competition bottom end dating from approximately 1956 fitted with an all alloy cylinder and head fed by an Amal Monobloc carburettor is housed in a B31 frame of 1955 vintage. The BSA gearbox is marked as having standard ratios. Gold Star pattern mudguards are fitted fore and aft and a Goldie style chromed fuel tank crowns the machine. Clip-ons compliment the swept back exhaust system fitted with a Gold star pattern silencer and chromed headlamp. The machine is finished to a high standard with good paintwork and an abundance of bright-work and is offered with Spanish documentation
