Lot details Registration No: YAX833J Chassis No: 43603783A Mot Expiry: Sept 2005
This Rover, a 1971 Solihull-built 2000 SC, was first owned by a Gwent Doctor who kept the vehicle as a second car for approximately twenty years. Following a change of ownership, the right-hand drive four-door was sympathetically restored by a local Rover enthusiast with some attention to paint, all chrome fittings and seals renewed, and a stainless steel exhaust system fitted. We are told that all the original manufacturing plates and transfers placed there by the factory are still present under the bonnet.
Current condition of chassis steel is claimed to be excellent, body panels and green paintwork good, cream buckskin trim within good and both 1978cc four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox reportedly in excellent order. The 59,343 miles displayed when entered is believed by the vendor to be the genuine total.
The entrant tells us that YAX 833J has always been garaged and will cruise along all day, if required, with good mpg. He is only selling the sports saloon, he says, due to lack of space. The current MOT will be valid until next September. The car also has the original AM radio, which is in working order.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
