Lot details Registration No: XVS 627 Chassis No: MD10711 Mot Expiry: May 2014
Readily identifiable thanks to its `round fender' design, the M38A1 was only made from 1952-1957 but remained in military service until the 1970s. Despite its Olive Drab paintwork, Khaki upholstery and US Army insignia, there is no accompanying evidence as to where (or indeed if) this particular example ever saw combat. Showing two former keepers on its UK V5C Registration Document, the Jeep has been in the current ownership since May 28th 1999. Regularly serviced and MOT'd over the past fourteen years, the Willys has also benefited from new springs all-round and a thorough powerplant overhaul by Engine Services of Sheffield (which reputedly cost some £1,100). Cosmetically scruffy, `XVS 627' is offered for sale with MOT certificate and (free) road fund licence valid until May 2014.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
