Further Info:

H&H are indebted to the vendor for the following description:

'This quite lovely and unusual Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II was sold by Jack Barclay from their Mayfair showroom to its first and only registered keeper on 8th January 1980.

Certainly, chassis SRH39461 was not your typical 'common or garden' specification Shadow. The Georgian Silver paintwork with a Dark Blue Everflex roof is all fairly normal, albeit, it certainly looks graceful and imposing; it's the interior which really set this particular car apart from the majority of other drab 1970s/1980s Rolls-Royces.

A wonderfully vibrant Dark Blue Parkertex Savoy Velvet adorns the seats, it contrasts really well with the Silver outside and makes the interior a special place to be. A further 'special feature' that was ticked, is the Ebony wood throughout - this may not be unique but is certainly very rare on a Shadow.

Twin front head rests were another extra and certainly add to the already excellent interior. Finally a Dark Blue Top Roll and Knee Roll (VM. 3209) were deemed appropriate. Another most unusual extra that you will not come across on one of these . . . Fiamm Horns with a foot-operated pedal! Finally the Grey Cirrus headlining helps lighten the interior.

All yours back in 1980 for the princely sum of £40,751.84! A whack of money then but probably only equal to a top spec VW Golf today! The odometer has just tripped 55,000 so just getting into its stride. 'To Waft' should be a verb uniquely attributed to Rolls-Royce but in any rate, it's a real sense of occasion each time one slips behind the wheel. Cannot be too many one owner examples left but absolutely certain there will be none with this specification'.

PLEASE NOTE: This lot was driven to the sale from East Sussex. However, the driver's door has developed a fault and cannot be unlocked at present.
