The Alec Issigonis designed Morris Minor has become one of the most enduring of all classics. The basic concept and straightforward technical layout was spot-on, not only being an economic proposition for the bean counters at Morris to sanction their manufacture, but also because punters could afford to buy and run them in very large numbers over many years with relatively easy to achieve upgrades.
The vendor tells us that the body was professionally restored during the late 1990s when the BMC series A engine was uprated to 1098cc capacity (he also tells us that an original spec 803cc motor will be freely available to a buyer here today). Having seen little use since installation, the engine fitted is said to be in good working order as is the 4-speed manual gearbox. Open bodywork, above and below, is said to be very good with white paintwork and red interior also both in very good order. The MOT will not require renewing until next May and the tax-exempt disc is current until February.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
