Reportedly treated to an extensive 'nut and bolt' renovation over the last twenty years, 'LYY 588D' is understood to pleasingly retain its original bodyshell and engine. Overhauled / balanced to standard specification (save for unleaded valve seats) some 150 miles ago, the latter still houses its factory-fitted EN40B crankshaft and is allied to a four-speed all-synchromesh 'S' gearbox. The remainder of the vehicle is also said to have been faithfully restored to factory specification. The Heritage Certificate shows the supplying dealer to have been Inwards of Hillingdon and the optional extras to have included a heater, additional fuel tank, 4.5J wheels and oil cooler. The Mini remains in its original mix of Black body allied to a Red and Gold/Grey interior but has gained a White roof along the way. The vendor describes the bodywork, paintwork and interior as "excellent" and the engine and gearbox as "totally overhauled".
