Introduced in 1979, the CB250N Superdream was marketed by Honda as a sports twin with 'Euro' styling. Built around a diamond frame with telescopic front forks and a swinging arm rear, its two-cylinder ohc engine boasted three valve heads. Quoted as developing 27bhp @ 10,000rpm, it was mated to a six-speed gearbox. Reputedly capable of 90mph and 50mpg, the Superdream was a paragon of reliability if not excitement.
Finished in silver with blue tank graphics, this particular example is still the property of its original owner, three times World Darts Champion John Lowe. Purchased in Chesterfield, it has covered just 64 miles from new (all of which were apparently crammed into its first hour of use!). Reportedly, "kept in a garage under covers for the last twenty-six years", it has also apparently "been periodically turned over by the kick start". Never submitted for MOT testing, its chromework and cycle parts are said to have become "slightly soiled" with age but otherwise the bike's appearance is judged to be "as new". Still wearing its factory fitted fairing, this evocative Honda's ultra low mileage and single-owner, celebrity provenance must surely make it a unique proposition.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
