Deluxe Giclee stretched canvas artwork, printed using archival inks and hand-finished with lustre coating for incredible colour depth, depicting the classic 1955 Monaco Grand Prix, with the winning Ferrari (44) in the lead (driven by Maurice Trintignant) - finished 1st, second place Lancia D50 (30) behind (Eugenio Castellotti) - finished 2nd and the Mercedes W196 (6) driven by Moss pulling over on the right - finished 9th, as they all race up Montée Beau-Rivage. Sir Stirling Moss was so taken with this work that he personally signed the original. No 36 was Roberto Mieres (Maserati) (who retired) 8 was Robert Manzon (Gordini - retired). 6th car in picture is probably a Gordini, either that of no 10 Jacques Pollet who finished 10th or Elle Bayol (retired) 32 Maurice Chiron (Lancia D50 - finished 6th) Far left of picture (above the chap in the red shirt) no 28 is Luigi Villoresi (Lancia D50 - finished 5th) The picture is presumably of Lap 80 which is when Moss (in the lead) had an engine failure and is seen pulling over on the left of the track, possibly limping back to the pits . Having completed 81 laps, Moss was credited with 9th place. Alberto Ascari (Lancia D50 no 26) had been leading but had crashed into the harbour on the 80th lap shortly before the scene depicted by this picture. Very good condition.
