The C92 and CB92 had served Honda well helping to establish them as a manufacturer of high performance motorcycles in both the European and American markets; however, by the mid sixties their position as the pre-eminent 125 was under threat from a number of manufacturers prompting the release of a revised range of 125cc twin cylinder machines by Honda. The new models performance was similar to that of their predecessors but the frame and cycle parts were completely revised adopting contemporary styling with telescopic forks and pivoted fork rear suspension and dispensing with the angular theme that had characterised the C/CB92. The standard sporting CB125 was complimented by a touring version, typed the CD which featured fuller mudguards and a "Street Scrambler", the CL.
The CL offered, dating from 1966, is offered in very good condition throughout, having formed part of a private European collection until recently. It displays a recorded mileage of 1650 miles and is said to run well. The machine will be offered with the necessary application form and supporting paperwork to acquire a UK registration number.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
