An open B is not only a highly affordable way to go sportscar motoring, but is a completely practical proposition to own and, more importantly, to use and enjoy on an everyday basis if required.
This MGB, a 1972-built right-hand drive roadster, was last rebuilt in 1999, when a colour change was made from Flame Red to the current British Racing Green. At the same time, the wheels were also changed from the standard issue Rostyle steels to the more attractive wires. Photos recording the restoration work carried out are available, says the entrant, and should be among the car's paperwork, which may be inspected in the documents office during viewing at Buxton.
Currently, the bodyshell condition is described by him as being good as is the BRG paintwork. The black interior is fair, he says, and both the 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox with benefit of an overdrive are reportedly in good order. The 64,642 mileage recorded when entered he believes to be the genuine total for GOV 4L from new. The current MOT will be valid until the middle of the month, the tax disc until May of next year.
