Innocenti marked 1961 with the introduction of their "Series 3" machines, known to the world as the "slimstyle " range. The first model to be released was the Li 125, quickly followed by the Li 150 and, in early 1962, the TV175. This machine was designed to appeal to the sporting enthusiast and could be differentiated from the "lesser" machines in the range by a number of features unique to it. An hexagonal headlight and fibreglass front mudguard were employed and a front disc brake was fitted to deal with the machine's performance potential. Capable of well over sixty miles per hour it quickly established itself as one of the most desirable scooters available, offering good performance combined with a high degree of refinement, despite this British sporting riders demanded more performance which resulted in the introduction of the TV or GT200 in 1963. The new model adopted a revised engine displacing 198cc producing 10.75 bhp at 5700 rpm housed in the TV175 cycle parts and would prove to be the quickest production Lambretta built to that point with a top speed 70 mph.

1966 witnessed the introduction of a revised 200cc Lambretta intended to replace the TV200 and remedy some of that model's faults. Typed the SX200 and regarded by many as the definitive sporting Lambretta, the new model retained the "slimstyle" styling of its predecessor together with the distinctive hexagonal headset, but introduced new side panels featuring three flashes, reputedly following the involvement of Pininfarina . The engine was revised resulting in slightly less power but greater flexibility and a reduction in vibration. The result was a machine capable of a claimed 66 mph endowed with excellent handling and looks.

This lovely red and white example dating from 1967 and emanating from a private collection has had, according to the owner, "only superficial restoration to bring it to this lovely condition". Described as being in good condition mechanically it was fitted with a replacement engine last year and is accompanied by the original power unit. The vendor informs us that this sought after machine "runs and performs great" . It is offered with a Swansea V5C and a number of old MOT certificates and tax discs.
