This delightful pre-war Wolseley is notably well-presented, with Black over Blue coachwork complemented by Blue leather upholstery and carpets, plus gleaming brightwork. The only obvious concessions to modern driving are the flashing indicators and a clip-on driver’s door mirror, as in every other respect the car appears remarkably original, right down to the starting handle affixed to the front bulkhead. Clearly well loved, in recent times ‘CDL 281’ has benefited from an interior retrim, engine-out under-bonnet detailing, starter motor and carburettor overhaul, plus a change of oil. Currently displaying a wholly credible 63,000 miles, the 14/56 is regarded by the vendor as having ‘very good’ bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, engine and transmission, and it is now being offered complete with: a spare set of wheels; green and brown log books; the original instruction manual; collection of old invoices; and no less than 26 MOT certificates dating back to 1970, when the indicated mileage stood at 48,893. Additional work carried out includes a radiator overhaul, brake cylinders re-sleeved, new brake linings, decoke and new valve seats - top end overhaul, water pump overhaul, new wiper motor, new petrol sender and petrol gauge recalibrated plus upgrades to wiring system.
PLEASE NOTE: This lot is only offered with two spare wheels.
