We are indebted to the Vendor for the following information:
"The vendor purchased the car from a Mr Neil Gibbs in Sheffield in the late ’60s.
The vendor believes Mr Gibbs bought the car from a gentleman in Chesterfield although this can’t be confirmed.
The car was used by the vendor in Sheffield as everyday transport for some time before being garaged in a small garage in Mosborough on the outskirts of Sheffield.
The vendor was asked to vacate the rented garage pretty rapidly and at the time a friend of the vendor, Mr Mike Collingburn, purchased the car for £30.
In the intervening years, Mr Collingburn took the car up to his works on Gallowfields industrial Estate in Richmond, North Yorkshire, and started to dismantle it to get the chassis painted ready to rebuild it.
Unfortunately for a variety of reasons, pressure of work initially and ill health latterly, the car, (although it did get a chassis repaint) never got finished and so four years ago it came back to the vendor as a chassis and a box of bits.
The vendor put most of the bits back together again and the car can now be described as a running chassis with part-built body.
