This splendid street-legal racer was built to contest the former Top Hat `Oldies But Goldies' championship and current HRDC `Touring Greats' events. It also complies with Goodwood's regulations and competed in the 2010 Revival meeting, where the vendor was partnered by Brian Redman (his signature remains on the car's roof). Power comes from a modified Triumph TR4A engine driving via a TR4A floor-change gearbox to a limited slip differential. The lowered suspension features adjustable dampers all round and the front brakes boast two-pot callipers. The specification includes: alloy foam-filled fuel tank, six-point roll cage, and plumbed-in fire system. The vendor classes the bodywork, engine and gearbox as "very good/excellent" and the Grey paintwork as "very good". He says the car can be further developed and that its rarity ensures its likely inclusion in the best of historic race meetings. `YSU 558' comes with large history file and numerous spares.
