2005 Harley Davidson FXDL Low Rider

Lot details
Registration No: MX05MVG
Frame No: 5HD1GNW195K321230
Engine No: GNW5321230
cc: 1450
MOT Expiry Date: May 2012

The Dyna Lowrider first entered the Harley Davidson catalogue in 1991 and quickly established itself as a stalwart in the Harley range, where it remains to this day. Designed to appeal to the more traditional Harley enthusiast, it was equipped with a conventional twin loop cradle frame with the rear suspension being controlled by twin shock absorbers. The combination of a low seat height, mid mounted controls for the rear brake and gearbox and pull back handlebars afforded the rider with a comfortable riding position. The transmission featured a belt final drive which is quieter than a conventional chain and helps to smooth out the large capacity vee twins power delivery. In 1999 the FXDL adopted the 1450cc four valve engine and in 2004 the engine gained fuel injection. 2001 was marked by the introduction of revised, lowered suspension components. The last major revision came in 2007 when the model adopted the 1558cc engine.

This example, dating from 2005 has been in the current owners possession for approximately two years. The motorcycle has been customised in a "stars and Stripes" livery using shades of grey with the motif extending from the front of the machine to the rear. The saddle is upholstered in black to further enhance the machines appearance and "Captain America" figures in the style of the Marvel comic "superhero" adorn the fuel tank. The engine has been stage 1 tuned ensuring that the machines performance matches its looks and a set of "slammer" handlebars have been fitted. 12 spoke alloy wheels have replaced the standard traditional spoked items and over a £1000 worth of chrome plated components have been fitted to the machine which cost in excess of £15000 to build. Described as being in A1 condition throughout, the motorcycle, which according to the vendor "has the classic Harley sound and draws a crowd at every junction", is believed to have recorded approximately 9950 miles and is offered with a Swansea V5C and an MOT certificate valid until October 2011.

PLEASE NOTE: The MOT on this vehicle expires on 29 May 2012.
