The trials Douglas introduced during 1950 offered an interesting alternative for riders when compared to the heavyweight singles that dominated the sport in the 1950's. The horizontally opposed twin cylinder engine endowed the machine with a low centre of gravity, although this was negated to some extent by the cylinders vulnerability.
This machine was first registered on the 16th February 1951 and appears to have spent much of its life in Lancashire. It is described by the vendor as having the correct trials gearbox, although the engine is thought to be from a road machine. Finished in red and black it is accompanied by a Swansea V5 and Buff log book.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
