Lot details Registration No: BOA 551A Frame No: UM68477 Engine No: 14405F cc: 197 MOT Expiry Date: None
Part of the AMC group from 1947 onwards, Francis Barnett specialised in making quality lightweight motorcycles that were both inexpensive to buy and economical to run. Powered by a range of Villiers two-stroke engines, they proved an essential source of commuter transport throughout the 1950s. Introduced in 1953 (for the 1954 model year), the Falcon '67' was a modified version of its '58' predecessor. Only in production for a short time (until the arrival of the '70' in 1955), it was differentiated by its stronger wheel bearings, revised steering geometry and plastic tank badges.
Finished in black, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in fair condition with regard to its frame, 197cc engine, transmission, electrics, paintwork and cycle parts. Said to have been restored "some years ago", it is offered for sale with its original bill of sale, old logbook, V5 / V5C registration documents, spares list, expired test certificate and sundry parts bills etc.
PLEASE NOTE: The vendor has informed us that a dual seat (in lieu of saddle) and pillion foot rests were fitted in 1953 as stated on the original bill of sale in the history file.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
